JIVE

Jive is one of the five International Latin dances. A very happy, energetic dance, with plenty of knee-lifting, bending, and rocking of the hips with lots of energy. A lively, and uninhibited variation of Jitterbug, many of its basic patterns are similar to those of East Coast Swing.

Jive incorporates lots of kicks and flicks, even twirling of the woman, and doesn’t move around the dance floor like other dances.

SALSA

Salsa is a popular form of social dance, usually a partner dance form that corresponds to salsa music. Best grouped in pairs of 4-beat patterns counted “1-2-3-…-5-6-7-…”.

BACHATA

Bachata, the sensual style of social dance from the Dominican Republic, is a full 8 count moving within a square. Dancers in the Western World later began developing a simpler pattern with a side-to-side motion. Both Styles consist of 3 steps normal and then a tap step. The tap is often accompanied by a “pop” of the hips, and is sometimes substituted with syncopations (steps in between the beats – some similar to cha-cha-cha steps and others much different).

KIZOMBA

One of the most popular genres of dance originating in Angola. Africa, Kizomba music became very close to Zouk. This Angolan dance form is mesmerizing to watch, and its unavoidable sensuality is helping it spread across the world.

WALTZ

The most popular Ballroom dance form of all time, popular variations being the Viennese waltz and the slow waltz. Unique to the waltz are the techniques of ‘raise and fall’and ‘body sway’. The basic movement is a three step sequence. It is an elegant and beautiful dance style.

CHA CHA CHA

Cha-Cha-Cha, a couple dance form of Cuban origin. The basic footwork pattern of cha-cha-chá is one-two-cha-cha-cha. Styles of cha-cha-chá dance may differ in the place of the chasse in the rhythmical structure.

BOLLYWOOD

Bollywood is a fun filled dance style that is a personal favorite of everyone. It helps lose weight and also has everyone grooving to the music. A high-energy dance form, which is flexible to incorporate other dance forms, which make it a hot favorite at corporate choreographies and dance classes  

HIP-HOP

Hip Hop evolved as part of Hip Hop culture and refers to street dance. It includes breaking, locking and popping. Originated in USA in 1970’s. Hip Hop developed several cultures including Jazz, Rock, Tap. Being a energetic form it allows dancers to perform with freedom of movement.

MERENGUE

Merengue, from the Dominican Republic music and dance, is an easy and fun dance to learn, which makes it a popular social dance. It consists of Cuban hip motion and fluid leg movement.
